Since 2013, NAA has been engaged with one of the largest-ever commercial archaeological projects in the North of England.

We investigated numerous sites between Leeming and Barton in North Yorkshire along the A1 motorway corridor. The work revealed extensive remains of Iron Age and Roman settlement and industry and has far-reaching implications for our understanding of Romanisation in the north.

Our latest monograph focuses on Britons and Romans at S cotch Corner. The book can be downloaded without charge from the Archaeology Data Service website. Click here to find out how to get a copy of this and other NAA monographs.

This work was carried out in collaboration with AECOM for Highways England. Click here to read Highways England's review of the work carried out on this part of the scheme.
