WE HAVE WON ANOTHER AWARD!
NAA are excited to receive the Association of Industrial Archaeologists (AIA) Archaeological Report Award 2019 for our work on Coniston Copper, Cumbria. Two of our popular publications - Coniston Copper: Mine and Mill: The History of Tiberthwaite Mine, and The People of Coniston Copper – were also High Commended in the Commercial Publications category. These awards really belong to all of those hardworking who made the project a success including Eleanor Kingston from the Lake District National Park, John Pickin, the Coniston Copper Archive & Social History Group, Pighill Graphics, Minerva Heritage, Jeremy Rowan Robinson, The Cumbria Amenity Trust Historic Mining Society (CATHMS), Ruskin Museum, not to mention all of our wonderful, dedicated volunteers.
NAA's Penny Middleton along with John Pickin (the Coniston Copper Archive & Social History Group) will be collecting the awards at this year’s AIA Annual Conference this Saturday (10th August) in Bridgewater. Do say hello if you are coming along.
