This week, Finds Friday features an ink bottle that was recovered when we undertook a ’watching brief’ at a site in Northumberland. The vessel has three ribbed sides, is 55mm in depth and dates from the Victorian period. The glass would have originally been clear but over time has been stained to purple by its contents. Originally it would have had a cork stopper that was sealed with wax.
